Tripp the Tri-Pawd Calendar Model
This beautiful yellow lab came into the
shelter as a stray with an injured front leg.
He had such a great temperament and was
soon lovingly referred to as "Mr Biggs".
The shelter and it's volunteers soon
noticed his leg wasn't improving and a vet
visit was scheduled. Dr Ewy told us sadly
there was nothing that could be done. The
Although upsetting, we all knew dogs
adapt very well to having 3 legs. We knew
exactly what had to be done, so with the
help of a Rescue in Colorado and the
shelter volunteers, Mr Biggs had his leg
amputated. He spent his recovery with Sue
and Jim Voll, dedicated foster parents.
soon adopted by some wonderful owners in
Colorado that truly adore him. They renamed
him "Tripp" and wrote to us after having him for
just 2 weeks to let us know he is very loved:
"Well 2 weeks as of today and he is still as
wonderful as all that! We love him to bits!"
Nanci wrote on explaining Tripp now has a
heated mattress but spends much of his time
sleeping on their lap! She also told us he loves
riding in the car, gardening, and eating Sausage
McMuffins!! The letter finished with a note to say:
"Oh Halloween is coming up! Tripp is going to our
neighbourhood party as an ice cream sundae."
Of course Tripp was too special for
the story to end here! His new
owners entered a photo of him into
Tripawd, and you guessed it, you
had to have 3 legs to enter! Well the
results came out in November 2011
and our beautiful boy was named
"Mr December 2012".
The photo than won Tripp his title of Mr December 2012
