~"Happy" gets a Happy Ending~
|
Happy was 1 of 5 Shih Tzus brought into the
shelter when a puppy mill was closed down.
Dogs found in puppy mills are often terrified
and filthy. When Happy and his friends
came in you could smell them before you
saw them. The confinement in puppy mills
results in the dogs standing and laying in
their own feces and urine. They're also
poorly socialized and sometimes never
regain trust in human-kind.

little-to-no medical attention. Essentially
puppy mills turn a profit from the suffering
of innocent dogs. Happy and his friends
endured extensive make-overs before
these photos were taken. They were all

see his coat was still stained and coarse
even after the dedicated attention of our
staff and volunteers.
Happy also wrote to us:
"Just a short note to let you know I really
am "Happy" now. My new forever Mom
changed my name to "Baby" and I love it.
My ear infection is almost all cleared and
I'll soon be going in for a dental
cleaning. Then a bath, haircut and a new
me! I love my new yard and just run all
caring for me till my forever Mom came
for me."

Happy was adopted by a very kind
and loving owner, named Sandy
Brown. We were very excited to
receive these photos of Happy.

"Thanks for my new love, he makes our
family more complete now"
